His Holiness Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda, known as Swamiji, is the disciple and successor of Paramhans Swami Madhavanandaji. For more than 40 years he has lived and worked in Europe and travels widely to all continents bringing a simple message of tolerance and compassion for all.

Swamiji is renowned globally by thousands as a great humanitarian worker and inspiriational spiritual master. Presidents and Governments have commended Swamiji's tireless dedication of his life to ease the suffering of humans and creatures alike. Throughout the world he has established ongoing humanitarian aid projects to provide better quality of life for people and animals who are in need of comfort and support.

Through his longlasting activities in the West, Swamiji became familiar with the way of life and the many problems people face in modern world, with psycho-somatic consequences of a wrong way of life, stress, fear for existence and mental illness. He developed a comprehensive practical master system of lifestyle management  called Yoga in Daily Life™, based on original yoga tradition and specially designed for the circumstances and needs of modern life. Swamiji has inspired the creation of thousands Yoga in Daily Life centres world-wide - offering the teachings and practices of Yoga in Daily Life to all people - regardless of age, social status, nationality or spiritual faith.

The main points of Swamiji's teachings are:

  • physical, mental, social and spiritual health
  • respect for life
  • tolerance for all religions, cultures and nationalities
  • world peace
  • protection of human rights and values
  • protection of the environment and preservation of nature

These fundamental principles of life shall lead man to spiritual development and Self- realisation. Swamiji's selfless service, his tireless care and love for all living beings, his lectures and satsangs are a source of inspiration for thousands of people from all over the world.

In recognition of his humanitarian and spiritual merits Swamiji has received many thanks, awards and honouring titles from all over the world. At the Maha Kumbha Mela in Haridwar, India in April 1998 he was appointed to Mahamandaleshwar of Maha Nirvani Akhara, the highest role in the Hindu Swami tradition of Sanatan Dharma.
